The three rounds of Qualifying in Suzuka have finished and we got to witness incredible lap times and an incredible 9th pole of the season for none other than Max Verstappen.
Already in Qualifying 1 the Dutch driver topped, followed by McLaren driver Lando Norris and Ferrari driver Charles Lecrlerc. Lance Stroll, Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg and Zhou Guanyu were out, together with them Logan Sargeant, who crashed in the first minutes of the Qualifying.
The second Qualifying was dominated by Charles Leclerc, surprising many with Ferraris sudden speed. He was followed by both Red Bulls, Verstappen in p2 and Perez in p3. Liam Lawson, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon and Kevin Magnussen did not make it to the final showdown, Q3, in which Verstappen showed incredible times from his first round till the end.
His first lap was already pole position material with a time of 1:29:012 but that was not enough for him. He did another lap close to the end and broke his own time record with an amazing time of 1:28:877, finishing 6/10 ahead of the field. Rookie McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, who has had an incredible season already, is starting in the front row tomorrow, landing p2 in the Qualifying, right behind him his team mate Lando Norris. Both drivers have said to be very happy with the day and the results they got.
The rest of the gird follows with Leclerc starting in p4. He is followed by Perez (5), Sainz (6), Hamilton (7), Russel (8), Tsunoda (9) and Alonso (10). Liam Lawson barely missed out by 4/100 of a second, now starting in 11 right before Gasly (12), Albon (13), Ocon (14), Magnussen (15), Bottas (16), Stroll (17), Hulkenberg (18), Zhou (19) and Sargeant (20).
What will tomorrow bring? Another win for Verstappen? A podium for Oscar Piastri? Whatever it is, tomorrow will most definitely be an exciting race and we cannot wait to see it.
